“If we value independence, if we are disturbed by the growing conformity of knowledge, of values, of attitudes, which our present system induces, then we may wish to set up conditions of learning which make for uniqueness,
for self-direction, and for self-initiated learning.”

Toolkit Strategy #4: Replicate a Professional Experience
After building a network of community leaders and professional partners and working with educators to plan sessions for our students, it is time to work out the logistics of the conference. Continue to find opportunities to replicate a professional conference. Use digital tools, provide opportuities for students to choose their schedule for the day, and plan for networking, food, and swag to make the day feel as special as possible. Don't forget conference evaluations! It is important to get the feedback of students, teachers, and community members to contiue to expand and improve upon the day. 21st Century Learning Conferences are an opportunity to think outside of the box in regards to all aspects of the day.
